Memory Foam is a compliant type of material with a cellular structure that is completely different than normal foam. It is made up of billions of high density viscoelastic memory cells. The cells are spherical with windows that are temperature sensitive. When you come in contact with the memory foam mattress, it reacts with your body heat, softens and gently conforms to your shape. Memory Foam was developed in the early 1970's at NASA's Ames Research Center. In an effort to relieve astronauts of the incredible g-forces experienced during lift-off.
